Origin of DET-SIS
The Digitization & Educational Technology Special Interest Section (DET-SIS) has a rich history, and we are proud of our historical achievements. Virtually from its inception, the 成人视频has been interested in technical developments that affect librarianship.聽 Committees were assigned to monitor and report to the Executive Board and membership about developments and applications of audio and visual technology to the study and practice of law. In the late 1930s, the duties of the Committee on Scientific Aids to Learning聽included oversight of the聽Committee on the Microfilm Survey.聽In the late 1950s, the聽Committee on the Application of Mechanical and Scientific Devices to Legal Literature聽included the聽Audio-Visual Materials Subcommittee听补苍诲听Microfacsimiles Subcommittee.聽In 1976/1977, the聽Audio-Visual Committee聽included a聽Microform Subcommittee.聽In June 1979, the Executive Board approved the change from the聽Audio-Visual Committee聽to the聽Micrographics/Audiovisual Special Interest Section.聽At the turn of the century, as digitization and audiovisual technology evolved and microforms became a legacy platform, MAV-SIS members recognized the need to evolve our SIS too.聽In April 2016, the Executive Board approved the name change to the Digitization & Educational Technology Special Interest Section.
The Digitization & Educational Technology Special Interest Section (formerly known as Micrographics/Audio-Visual) 聽focuses on three core areas:
- Presentation聽using educational technology (e.g., using images in PowerPoint)
- 笔谤别蝉别谤惫补迟颈辞苍听of materials through digitization
- 笔谤辞诲耻肠迟颈辞苍听using educational technology (e.g., making a movie or videotaping presenters)
